Goju-Kai Karate-Do, U.S.A. is a Karate organization presided over by N. Gosei Yamaguchi, the firstborn son of the late Gogen Yamaguchi. Among Karate practitioners, the Yamguchi family is known as one of the most highly recognized authorities of the Goju-Ryu Karate-Do institution. It was Gogen Yamaguchi who founded an international Karate organization named Goju-Kai, or 剛柔会 in Japan. Gosei Yamaguchi was sent by his father to the United States in 1964 in order to establish and promote an authentic Goju-Kai program outside of Japan. He teaches at the National Headquarters' honbu dojo, or 本部道場 of Goju-Kai. He also teaches Karate at San Francisco State University in the Department of Kinesiology for curriculum classes. It is his mission to preserve the Goju-Ryu Karate-Do in the Goju-Kai tradition outside of Japan.
